When a woman dives into the lake, at whose harbor he and Olive have been sitting, ostensibly to drown herself, the student jumps in and saves her. A powerful study of what keeps us moving toward Life....more

Loving this novel. His earlier novel "On Earth We Are Briefly Gorgeous" was heart-wrenching, so I never finished it. This one tackles similar themes--an older woman facing dementia, a young adult male who helps her and loves her, loneliness--but it iLoving this novel.
