"I read Edgar Allan Poe’s short story Mesmeric Revelation and thought it was ambitious but a bit of a slog. The combination of scientific musing and whimsical spirituality in the dialogue at the centre of the story was an intriguing plot device. I thought its exploration of spirituality was interesting. Still, I’m not sure Edgar Allan Poe is the best science fiction writer." — Mar 04, 2026 03:26PM

"I read H.P. Lovecraft‘s short story The Statement of Randolph Carter and thought it was great. It’s a very brief read, but Lovecraft’s poeticism and macabre descriptions added a lot of intrigue and gravity to the nightmarish story of one man listening to his peer disappear into the depths at a spooky cemetery. Definitely a fun little read." — Mar 04, 2026 01:05PM
