"Some notes for myself-

Pages 53-60 contain ideals of optimism in the face of uncertainty and fear.

It’s apparent that love is a powerful emotion and somewhat of a tool in how it’s utilized by the townspeople - those who refuse their loved ones back home hold onto the hope of seeing them again when the plague is over, those who accept them back do so because love triumphs over their more rational ideals."

"Chapter 5 is going to stick with me, certainly something I’ll revisit.

Its talks about benevolence and alike virtues is soothing.

Vastly interesting too its explorations of its history, meaning and actionability.

The thing I took away from this chapter was that Benevolence and power are not mutually exclusive, you can have both and in regard you must have benevolence to have power."
