He has helped me look within my own heart and move outside of the box (my head). In the first chapter, he says, "Can you see the faith, the wisdom, the effort, and the obedience that it takes for you and me to love our enemies? Our unconditional love sets Christians apart from the world and stops the ignorant mouths of evil men. Loving enemies is a light that glorifies God." Sharing the Gospel in effect is loving our enemies which God commands us to do. It takes effort, faith, and obedience. He reminds us, "If hesitant in sharing the Gospel, check with your understanding of God's unconditional love for you. Do you believe in the power of the Gospel? Remember, you were once unsaved. Someone was willing to share the Gospel with you." This is so true. I would not be saved if it wasn't for someone taking a chance and sharing the gospel with me.

The single most powerful comment he made that just jumped off the page to me was the following, "If you listen to his (the enemies) lies about you being unworthy, unequipped, unintelligent, unhinged, and unprepared, it will undermine your efforts to understand evangelism. You don't need much to plant seed because the quality is in the seed, not the sower. And that's all we are doing--planting precious seed." Even though I had head knowledge of this understanding, my actions don't reveal that I believe it in my heart. This was eye-opening for me. What it really boils down to is, am I willing to share the gospel with my heart instead of my head. Loving God is loving my neighbor and my enemies through sharing the gospel with them and allowing God to work through me by planting His precious seed. He does the work, I am just the laborer. A fantastic book so far, I recommend it to anyone who desires to be challenged in their thinking and overcome their fears of sharing the gospel. ...more "
