I absolutely loved the characters -and not just the MCs, but the Maddisons, Ryan, Indy, and the glimpses we got from the team as well. The friendship -and therefore, the comunication, honesty and support- between Zanders and Maddison is truly beautiful and heartwarming. The way they treat Zee as part of their family, without it being up for discussion, wrecked my heart.

Stevie´s relationship to her brother was so beautiful to see, I feel like everyone deserves to have a sibling as supportive and honest, as they were towards each other.

And then, obviously, the MCs. Talk about character development -both seperately with their families, and with each other and themselves-. Their banter was top notch, made me laugh out loud countless times! And what I loved the most, is that the spice was delicious and hot, but it did not overshine the MCs journey and relationship. It was there like a supporting act, in the perfect moments.

SPOILERS!!!!!

And then the only bad thing I have to say: The stupid third act break-up! I was sooo damn confident in their healing journey and their communications, that I was sure there will be no break-up. That they will just talk through everything, support each other and they will be against the world. Well, that didn´t happen. It all went up in flames faster than I could have said "Don´t you dare do this to me!!". I was so mad, I had to put it down for a few minutes, because in all seriousness, what the hell?! I get that for some people, it made everything better in the end. For me, it just didn´t make any sense. Because what came of it -all the steps both of them took to heal the relationships they had with family-, would have happened without the break-up as well. They were well on their way towards them, and could have gotten there even faster with the support from the other. Oh, I just absolutely despise unnecessary break-ups, and cannot wrap my head around the fact that they ALWAYS make up so quickly after, even though they were both clearly heartbroken...

If I can put that opinion aside -and even if I can´t-, this book is a masterpiece and I have every intention of rereading it a couple times in the near future. Cannot wait to read the following two books. ...more "
