" Writing this for when the next book is released and I can come back to my theories :)

This book was one I couldn’t put down. I read it once and then listened to the audio book after. i can’t wait to see what yarros does with the next book.

-a few of Writing this for when the next book is released and I can come back to my theories :)

This book was one I couldn’t put down. I read it once and then listened to the audio book after. i can’t wait to see what yarros does with the next book.

-a few of my thoughts down below-

Tairn keeps trying to explain his ancestry in every book and never finishes the thought. Then we get this tiny throwaway comment that he comes from the only black dragon line that bonded in the Great War… and the second Violet pays attention, they immediately change the subject. this is going to be huge in the next book!!

Something is off about Ridoc….I’m not saying he’s a god, but something is not adding up. He knows things he shouldn’t. He shows up exactly when the plot needs direction. People react to him weirdly. He downplays himself way too much. there’s more there i just don’t know what it is yet.

Violet is nowhere near her power limit. Both Tairn and Andarna hint she’s doing things riders shouldn’t be able to do. Other riders stare at her like she’s breaking magical laws. She’s clearly being set up for something huge next book.

Dragons are hiding something. Anytime the Great War or ancient bonds come up, dragons get real quiet. They dodge questions, change topics, or say Violet “isn’t ready.” They’re hiding major history and it’s definitely going to explode later. also the series is called the empyrean series so….

we already know not to trust the scribes-there was another contradiction in the histories. People supposedly hadn’t traveled to the isles in 100+ years but violets dad had been there as we see in his books as well as Halden mentioning treating they had made with the isles within the recent century.

also I fully think imogen has been taking violets memories throughout the past three books. we get confirmation that the reason violet can’t remember getting married was because imogen took her memories at the end - tbd about the rest.

and i think it’s garrick that turned. almost 100% abt that

i looooved broccoli!! iykyk ...more "
