This is a heavy book covering very heavy topics/themes but Corinne did a beautiful job at handling these topics with so much care and you can tell the amount of effort and research she put into this book.

I need to talk about the LOVE these two characters have for each other. They both have things and reasons that stop them from doing certain things, or they feel skeptical doing but Paloma and Bennett love each other like nothing else. They care so so deeply for one another and they both are constantly keeping track of one another, they find reason to think about each other, to check up on each other. Truly an invisible string between Paloma and Bennett. I just have so much love for these two characters and the way Corinne wrote their story in this past and present timeline was so well done. You see from the very beginning the immediate connection and empathy these two had for each other and that connection, empathy, and love just grew to even more greater levels as they shared time with each other. And even when they didn’t see each other, or only saw each other in passing their love just grew and grew. It was overwhelming in the best way possible.

This is a story of hardship, of battling your inner self, of finding love and trying to warn yourself away from it but always finding yourself back with that person. It is the struggle of loving yourself and yet having so much love for another person. I could go on and on about how beautiful this book is and how Peyton Corinne put so much love and care into this story.
