How many people will look at me like he does, not just like I’m the sun but like I’m the whole god damn universe.
This book is what it says on the tin: a modern day mix between ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Made in Chelsea’. Most definitely a slow burner, but I really enjoyed it. The character structure and development (or lack of) was fantastic. I felt sorry for BJ and was rooting for his relationship with Magnolia in one chapter and then despising him and wanting him out of the plot all together the next. (Christian infuriated me the whole time though.) I’m not sure if it was intentional, so that you could see something that the characters couldn’t. Maybe it was strategical writing on the part of Hastings, but I was able to predict a major part of the story just after halfway through. It didn’t necessarily ruin it, if anything it built anticipation. But it was still a teeny tiny bit annoying. For me anyways. Overall a four star read :) — the plot ‘spoiler’ and Christian knocked off a star for me.
