I don't know if I was the only one but I did feel like Johnny was bit unrealistic and almost too good to be true on certain aspects I can't pinpoint what exactly , but I felt like he was there to be the one that was going to heal her like a cure for the extreme bullying and abuse she went through her whole life and while having a good partner that you can see as your safe place can help you a lot , you can't depend depend on that only to heal from your trauma. either way It was refreshing to have a non toxic MMC even if it might seem a tiny bit unrealistic.

I didn't dislike him as a character , I actually really liked him and I do think he's a good fit for Shannon , but I don't want her to love herself through Johnny's validation but rather learning how to love herself and building that fondation that she doesn't have. it's going to take a while and I liked that you could see through this book her healing process with Johnny's help/support and I thought it was very realistic I mean healing from 16 years of trauma doesn't take 2 days and you can see that it's messy it can go up and then it'll go down and then it'll go back up for a while and then fall down but that's how it is.

Overall , I really loved how immersive it was and the deep emotional impact like it just feels very raw and I did appreciate that. Obviously , there was one of my favourites trope : found family so how could I not love it ? Especially Gibsie who constantly made me laugh and his never ending loyalty for Johnny that I absolutely loved. It felt really good to have a romance that's built on trust , consent , patience and understanding tho I do hope we develop the communicating aspect a little bit more on Shannon's side and she becomes more comfortable in telling him the truth. It wasn't rushed , you can feel the emotions and the tension building on as you read.

This book made me laugh , angry , cringe , in awe and sad and if that just the beginning I can't even imagine how the rest of the journey will be :) ...more "
