Hatta is obviously at fault for the creation of the Jabberwock but it wasnt like he knew that would happen. I saw someone say that Hatta was in love with Jest and it makes so much sense. Like I mean maybe they just had a really strong bond but I feel like the way he treated Cath proved otherwise. His anger was so valid because it was Cath's fault, in the end. He genuinely tried to help her, maybe it was for Jest more than her but whatever, but instead of being even the slightest bit gracious, she got mad at him.

Stupid, stupid Cath. She brings me so much anger. WHY did she think she was so special and could be above the Sisters' fate? like I'm being so fr who did she think she was? and for MARY ANN that stupid bitch. I hate her too. Not only did she rat Cath out and got Jest in trouble but Cath only went back for HER. She also wasn't even like enthusiastic when Cath was going to tell her parents about the bakery like girl. but anyways, back to Cath. I fear the Sisters had given her ONE rule, ONE. Do. Not. Go. Through. A. Door. and what did she do? she went through a door. she is so selfish like actually. Not only did she damn Jest to death by defying the Sisters, she forced Raven to be a murderer and Hatta to go mad. why did she not think of anyone except Mary Ann? they were all trying to avoid that fate but Cath went and ruined it all. I wish she died instead, I wish Raven would've killed her.

I also wish we couldve got to see more of Raven. He lost Jest too, his fate was cruelly decided for him too. Ik he was like based off edgar allen poe but it would've been interesting to hear why he chose to stay in his Raven form. maybe he just didn't want to always have to remember being an executioner but still.

Peter peter. yes he was cruel, yes he deserved to die after killing jest but at the same time, he was trying to protect his wife even if his methods were questionable. Cath should NOT have stolen his pumpkin. It was stealing first of all and ruined everything. I hate him also but idk I feel like he did truly love his wife.

the king... he honestly pmo as well. he was just a jolly little man and shit but he also was a terrible ruler. I feel like its overlooked that if he had taken action earlier and gotten the jabberwock killed, perhaps jest couldve lived. obviously, there could've been a hundred other ways he ended up dead but its still worth a thought. and yes there weren't any soldiers capable of that but he didn't even TRY. he hosted his stupid parties and wore his stupid crown yet did nothing a king truly should. maybe he would've treated Cath right, but he deserves the future he got.

Cath's parents also played a pretty big role. they were so adamant on having Cath be queen, so sure that they were doing what she wanted, that they never stopped to make sure she was okay with it. Cath was pressured into like literally everything involving the king because of them. She didn't want to lose her title and its so fucking stupid that they gave her an ultimatum. like genuinely trash ass parents. maybe they loved her but they certainly didn't show that enough. they didn't even consider supporting her and instead were hell bent on having a queen for a daughter.

Jest, my poor sweet Jest. he loved Cath so much that he went after her even though he knew he was going to die. ugh she didn't deserve him. he did everything for her and where did that lead him? without a head.

of course Cheshire has to be mentioned. another way I think jest could've not died is if Cath had listened to him before they went to see Hatta. the gossip was about Mary Ann, I'm pretty sure. if Cath had known that BEFORE, she could've saved mary ann before even stepping into the looking glass.

I feel like I missed some people but its okay. rip to the lion, he was a real one. also the poor turtle. it actually was so sad when he was like I'm still a real turtle, right 😭 margaret and the duke... they were an interesting couple I suppose. I'm glad they got together but if I was Cath I would've slapped margaret already. why did she think she was so high and mighty? and also why was Cath so rude about her looks. who cares if she wasn't pretty?? like what. Peter peter's wife gave me the creeps. it wasn't her fault she ended up the way she did so I do feel bad.

anyways so I basically love and hate this book at the same time 💔
