Cantoras is the most INCREDIBLE book I have ever read. I found this book during a time where I needed this representation most.

The journeys and the character development you see in all the characters is incredible, especially with Paz and Flaca in my opinion. You see Paz start out as a fearful, teenage lesbian grow up into strong woman who creates a safe place for others of the LGBTQ+ community, although that happens towards the end of the book.
Being set in the 70s to 80s in Uruguay (during the dictatorship), it was obviously a terrible time for so many people but seeing the main five characters find their safe haven in Cabo Polonio is so refreshing: there will always be a safe place for us, we are never alone.
Tw: definitely search up triggers for this book
