It is about a about 12-year-old girl who moves from Taiwan to Seattle and has to find friend because her parents moved their because they had a new job available at Seattle.After she moved to Seattle she got picked on because she had Taiwan food she decided to learn how to make American lunches and people started to trade lunches with her and she called her sandwich the My signature sandwich.Before that she observed the kids lunch and got the recipe to the, After school Cici’s friend give her advice to how to earn money but she wasn’t satisfied, on her way to home she saw a poster of a cooking contest and it had a Dream cash prize she got lucky because they had a last spot and she signed up but she had to get a parent approval she had to ask her mom because she didn’t want to tell her dad because it was part of the surprise they all decided to keep it a secret but the only one who didn’t know was Cici’s dad.Cici and her mom decided to go to the Contest but she still had to keep the secret because they almost got caught.

At the contest she met her new teammate/future friend Miranda,But Cici felt unsure because Miranda dad owned a restaurant and her dad had told her the secrets to the perfect seasoning.Her and Marinda cooked different dishes and they they won but they needed to work together and have some trust in each other so Miranda invited her to her house and they started to cook and learn some different spices,They went to the contest and made a few dishes and went into the semi finals,but she had to study but she didn’t get the score her dad was pleasant about so she had to focus more on studying,but she made a good comeback at the next quiz and she got to to to the finals but at the competition the coach decided to make the competition and individual so Cici had a good advantage because she could show her skills. They were a lot of people got to see the finals and support the contestants.They made and and a lot of people got eliminated but Miranda and Cici were the remaining contest and in that contest there was only one winner but the winner rounded up to Cici because she satisfied coaches.Remember this was a secret, it was for Cici’s grandmother to visit Seattle on her 70th birthday and the surprise was mostly for Cici’s dad but he later found out because Cici told here in order to go into the finals at the end they had a family reunion and everyone was happy .

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

I personally think that this book is very cultural and traditional. It is very inspirational. It has a lot of encouraging moments that are encouraging.I think Lily Lamotte and Ann Xu did a great job summarizing the story.In my opinion I could see myself reading more Graphic novels and books from Ann and Lily.If i would recommend a book I would recommend you Measuring Up,If you start you finish.I personally rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. ...more "
