All l've seen is hate on god of war and I'm like am I the only one who loved it? Like everyone is saying how Eli never cared about Ava when EVERYTHING he did was for HER? "He never stayed around her" because he thought his mere presence would make her have episodes? He was cold towards her because of that reason. He did everything he thought was right to stop her having more episodes with her psychosis, the sheer audacity to even say he never cared after so much, for example, after she stabbed him and he tried burying the evidence so no one found out or hated her? Like did people READ the book? 😭 they can say they didn't like it, but to say they didn't like it because Eli NEVER CARED? Bye👩‍🦯
Eli hid things because he probably had no idea how she’d react or if she would have another episode, he never stayed around her in fear his presence would make her spiral, he didn’t even stay with her during waking hours when she went to the asylum at the end, he only visited at night. He made sure she never drove (when she wasn’t persistently trying to piss him off (as she should)) or did anything that he knew may trigger her. He threatened her at the beginning of their marriage because he was obsessed with her, yes, but he also probably did it because he could tell how much she had begun to spiral out of control. He never told her about her memories when she first woke up with the amnesia because it had been the first time she’d acted herself after 2 years of her being a lifeless zombie, so excuse the man for wanting to spend as much time with her as he could, knowing he was being selfish and running out of time.
Idc what yall say, Eli cared for Ava so much🧍‍♀️
