She’d just finished talking with people! Lots of people! She wanted to burrow into her house and not have to worry about what she’d say and what he’d say and all of that back-and-forth talking nonsense.
As an introvert working a job that is human interaction all day long, this is exactly how I feel after finishing up for the day. I already peopled today, I’m done peopleing! I’ll people after work if I must, but I would prefer not to.
