I love love love how it explores how different people perceive the CONCEPT of scent and smell it’s very unique
also it’s surprisingly very very funny punctuated w moments that are more dark and sinister"

"this is a very intriguing read so far! there are changes in perspective and tense each chapter so it makes it a bit of a switching about when you read but it’s also a very interesting structural component that adds to the story!
my fav perspective rn is Levi’s bc it gives me very much horror vibes (dare I say.. Gothic? Australian Gothic? Fuck I LOVE Australian Gothic underrated as hell)"

Sylvia Plath
“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet.”
Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Oscar Wilde
“The gods are strange. It is not our vices only they make instruments to scourge us. They bring us to ruin through what in us is good, gentle, humane, loving.”
Oscar Wilde, De Profundis

Oscar Wilde
“Every one is worthy of love, except him who thinks that he is. Love is a
sacrament that should be taken kneeling.”
Oscar Wilde, De Profundis

Oscar Wilde
“To regret one’s own experiences is to arrest one’s own development. To deny one’s own experiences is to put a lie into the lips of one’s own life. It is no less than a denial of the soul.”
Oscar Wilde, De Profundis

Douglas Adams
“If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now.”
Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
