I’ve first read this book 1,5 years ago when I just started getting more into dark romance and tbh I was a bit overwhelmed. Now that I’ve read a lot of dark romance and reread this baby, I understood even more what a masterpiece this book is.

Storyline:
Stalker romance? We stan.✨ This is the ultimate stalker dark romance. The setting, the pace of the storyline, everything just works together so well. Since it takes a bit until Zade and Addie meet in person, the tension in the storyline is phenomenal and captivating. And the parallel story about Addie’s great grandmother? Such a great idea, also because we can see the parallels between both stories.
What makes this book so good is, that you can see while reading what Addie feels for Zade and how she slowly opens up. My fav chapter in this entire book was chapter 27! Aaagh it lives in my head rent free.😭

Protagonists:
ADELINE REILLY, my girl.♥️ How could she not fall for Zade when he’s saying this hot af stuff. I adore Addie for her strong personality, that she’s not afraid to say when something pisses her off or her caring side. She’s the right amount of feisty, has a great sense of humor and has no problem fighting back.

ZADE MEADOWS will for ever be the best dark romance book man. First of all, the things he says?!😮‍💨 How did H. D. Carlton come up with this stuff because im addicted! Perfect example for “man written by women”. Second of all, his obsession for Addie. Yeah, he’s doing highly questionable things but once you’ve read both books and look back on his actions, you only realize how much this man is in love with her. Imagine being loved by a man like Zade loves his little mouse. Which leads me to the nickname: “little mouse”.🐭 Ufff, Zade made this nickname sound so hot, I’m obsessed.

I also love the side characters (Daya, Jay,…). The are the perfect contrasts and make the storyline truly complete.

Spicy chapters: [🌶️4,5/5]
This book has the perfect amount of spice and details, it’s not too much and is HOT! Well…the famous gun scene. The first two scenes are kinda lacking of consent, I know. Addie still enjoys most of Zades actions and I could still enjoy reading those scenes because it felt like Zade wouldn’t go too far (if that makes sense). You can hate that part of the book or my opinion on it but tbh other genres like horror/thriller also don’t get judged for the cruel things that they do. Those scenes were essential for the character development and storyline, since it showed how absurd it is to fall for a stalker. ...more "
