"Magical Realism Short Stories might be my favourite (though hyperspecific) genre in all of existence (thank you Aimee Bender) and considering this rating I obviously had to buy it, so now im 16 pages in and getting adjusted to the writing style and looking up what a 'lattice' is. Also, the cover is gorgeous" Jan 08, 2025 11:21PM

"(ILIAD) I started this bc i wanted to immerse myself in classical literature, and am reading an older version so prepared myself to be absplutely bored and read out of necessity, but OH MY GOD this reads like comedy. It's hilarious. Though a bit difficult to decifer at times, I've read many books that were harder to get through. So much is happening and it's all blatantly insane: amazing. Amen.”

“While she cut the mushrooms, she cried more than she had at the grave, the most so far, because she found the saddest thing of all to be the simple truth of her capacity to move on.”

“No one needed to say it, but the room overflowed with that sort of blessing. The combination of loss and abundance. The abundance that has no guilt. The loss that has no fix. The simple tiredness that is not weary. The hope not built on blindness.”
