Who would’ve t I CANNOT BELIEVE IM *ACTUALLY* (FR THIS TIME) FINISHED WITH THE TWILIGHT SAGA?!?! LIKE I READ THIS ENTIRE SERIES?!? It’s genuinely wild to me because I picked up Twilight sort of as a joke back in May when I started my reading journey. Who would’ve thought that this would become one of my full blown obsessions? Not only that, but Twilight got me into reading again!!! If it wasn’t for me “jokingly” picking up that book, I probably wouldn’t have rediscovered my love for reading so THANK YOUUUU TWILIGHTTT 🤭✨

With all that being said, I feel like I unfortunately don’t have thatttt much to say about Midnight Sun (but I’ll probably still ramble too much anyways)…
I liked it!!! But she doesn’t get a 5 ⭐️ like Twilight did.
Something about Twilight is just soooo 😩🥹🫢🤭😭😑 TO ME!! Midnight Sun is the same exact story of course, but she did not have me kicking my feet, giggling, and twirling my hair in the same way Twilight did. Maybe it’s because this story wasn’t new to me, or maybe it’s because it’s from a different perspective, maybe both? Idk! But something about her wasn’t AS magical. ANYWAYS! We’ll start with the things I did like about this book:

1. EDWARDS POV EDWARDS POV EDWARDS POV!!! This being written in Edwards perspective is literally the entire point of the book, but it was EVERYTHING to me!!!! I already am planning on doing a reread of Twilight and Midnight Sun at the same time so I can get both perspectives because I am insane 🤭 But fr, the change in pov added so much more depth to the story! I loved being able to read the thoughts of all of the other characters, I loved how angsty and melodramatic edward could be, I loved peeping more into the Cullens lives and seeing their reactions to Bella. Like, I especially loved Emmett’s adoration for Bella throughout the book because I wouldn’t have really picked up on that from the rest of the series! There was also more backstory (like where tf Edward went when he first left Forks after Bella’s arrival) AND there were a ton of little foreshadowing details! (my fave being Edward reading Jacob’s mind and Jacob being disgusted by Bella’s “perfume” at prom. BUT It wasn’t Bella’s scent at all it was his sensitivity to the smell of Vampires!!! Edward didn’t even know it yet but Jacob began his transition MUCH sooner than New Moon!!!) Anyways, we couldn’t have had any of the things I mentioned previously from plain old Bella’s perspective (no offense Queen)
2. BELLA AND EDWARD SO SILLY 🤭🤭🤭 I could be misremembering because it has been nearly a year since I originally read Twilight, but I felt like Bella and Edwards banter was just so much sillier than before!! But i especially feel this was towards Bella’s character as a whole this time around. I’ve always found Edward to be charming and I like his dry sense of humor, but I found Bella to be a lot more likable!! I think Edward made me fall in love with this bitnch too wtf?! Im joshing ofc, but also…idk…but seriously! More of Bellas personality was shown from Edwards eyes and I enjoyed that a lot. I also do have to say that after reading this entire saga, I am definitely Team Edward for Bella…sigh 😑 I ONLY SAY THAT BECAUSE: Miss girl clearly has some…problems? Of some sort?…I don’t know how she was SO chill about a LOT of the shit that went down just this book alone!! I just don’t know how I didn’t pick up on how absolutely insane Bella was when I was reading Twilight. It’s clear to me that Bella is a freak, Edward is a freak of course too, so they match each other so perfectly I don’t know how they could be with anyone else. In an alternate reality (my mind) Bella and Jacob are ENDGAME because if Bella wasn’t such a weirdo and let all the Cullen shit slide, Jacob would be the one ☝🏻 but because this alternate reality doesn’t exist and probs never will because Miss Stephanie Meyer herself made Jacob’s character just so strange as the series went on (this is just a sidenote btw but we should really be talking about this bc WTF) SO this means that Jacob just has to be mine 🤷🏻‍♀️ darn!!!sorry Bella…
I feel like these were the two big things that made this book stand out to me! I could go on and on about more little details about the things I mentioned, but I’ll stop here (unless you insist 😋)
There wasn’t really much I disliked about this book either! Most if not all of my complaints are nitpicking so I’ll keep it short :D
1. not enough Jacob Black 👎🏻👎🏻 I’m kidding, but also I’m not kidding…I feel like there was somehow EVEN LESS Jacob in this book than in Twilight. Which is saying a lot for how little Jacob was in Twilight… like okay so what this book is about Bella and Edward falling in love ?!😑 ummm don’t care?!? 😑 GIVE ME MORE JACOB, STEPHANIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Sometimes, and only sometimes! Edward could be a bit…much. I mean, he’s always been much, don’t get me wrong! But being in his mind for 600+ pages was a lot of time to be in his mind! He’s lucky that he’s the one who can read others minds and not the other way around because I fear he may have been burned down quite some time ago…. I still love Edward though!!!! Sometimes he was just a bit too over dramatic in some situations and I think he could have benefited from a chill pill every now and again! That’s all!
3. Why so many pages of book 😩!!! This is a love and a hate of mine for this book (and also maybe Breaking Dawn as well tbh) because on one hand, I LOVE any content I can get! I really enjoy this world and I am sad when it’s all over! But on the other hand, sometimes there be too many pages of book, Stephanie!!!! I could not BELIEVE how long it took to get to the main conflict of the story!! And by the time we got there I was worried we wouldn’t have enough time to efficiently wrap things up at the rate we had been going!! Reading this book genuinely felt like a lifetime, and I didn’t really feel that way about any of the other books. Not even Breaking Dawn!

Again, I loved this book and I loved this series and I am so sad for it to be over like actually 😭😭😭 but trust when I say that I WILL be rereading the entire saga, probably more than twice to be so honest with you…and I do look forward to updating my reviews and seeing how my opinions change and what not!!
I’m going to end this review with BEGGING AND PLEADING THAT MISS STEPHANIE MEYER DOES MORE OF THESE PLEASE BRO!!!
I cant live knowing that Edwards written perspective exists for Twilight, but NOT for New Moon?! Specifically I need an edward pov for New Moon like neow 😌 and then while you’re at it, you may as well write the whole saga from his perspective?!?!
OR!!! EVEN BETTER!! Is giving me Jacob’s perspective (specifically for New Moon again, but I’ll take literally anuthing) because it’s already been done in Breaking Dawn! So just like,,.., do it again!
And you know what!!! While we’re at it Stephanie let’s do some more novellas?!! Bree Tanners surprised me a lot! It would be really cool to see a book written in James perspective from the hunt!!! Just an idea 😌 (call me Stephanie xoxo) ...more "
