It gave me time to breathe, reconnect with the characters, and absorb the depth of the world-building. But then the second half hit… and it was absolutely wild. The twists, the tension, the buildup: I could not put it down. Maas continues to impress me with how she threads so many characters and plotlines together.

I’m still reeling from the ending, which is why I needed to write this right away. It left me completely shaken. I don’t think I’ll ever recover emotionally. And what amazes me most is that I never see the big moments coming. I love that I can't fully guess what's coming. What truly wrecked me, though, was this book's theme of complete sacrifice. So much—literally so much—is asked of the main character that I found myself in tears. She is raw, gutting, and beautiful. I have never met anther character quite like Aelin.

A heads-up for my fellow readers: I did choose to skip two pretty graphic love scenes, just based on personal preference. But even with that, the story remained incredibly strong and satisfying. I’m fully invested and can’t wait to see where the final 2 books take us. This series just keeps getting better!!!
