Logan's backstory is tough. His father is an alcoholic and he is expected to take care of him for a couple years after graduation so that his brother can travel for a couple years. The deal was that while Logan goes to college to get a degree, his brother Jeff would take care of their father and the family business. Once Logan graduations, it's his turn to take care of his father. He's dreading graduation because of this and feels like his life is going towards a dead end. The thing is, Logan has more than enough talent to make it to the NHL... But this is holding him back.

Grace Ivers is a freshman in college and is experiencing the college life with her bestfriend Ramona. She's been a great student and kind of lives in Ramona's shadow since she's the quiet friend and Ramona is the outgoing one. One day, she bumps in Logan (not the best meeting) and then after that, he ends up at her dorm on accident again. Sparks fly.

Ramona is a jealous friend and honestly the worst character I've encountered so far in the Off-Campus series. She's a horrible friend to Grace and I'm expected to believe they were friends for 13 years? Once Ramona finds out that Grace and Logan have been talking and hooking up, she even breaks girl code and tries to hit on Logan when Grace and Logan are "broken up". Which Logan sends Grace a screenshot of that text and says, "Thought you should see this." Mhmm.

As Logan is navigating his feelings for Grace, he believed he was in love with Hannah (his bestfriend's girlfriend), and it's not until Hannah sits him down and makes him realize that it's not her he's in love with, it's the idea of being in a happy relationship. This reason was why I only gave this book 4 stars... I did NOT like the feeling of Grace being overshadowed by this.

The thing that I enjoyed the most about this book was the groveling. Mr. John Logan is the KING of groveling. He did every ridiculous task on Grace's list to win her back and it was an adventure to read. He tried his very best to show Grace that she's not just another lay to him. And even though Grace is younger, she showed maturity and she proved to Logan that she's a ride or die girly.

Now The Mistake wasn't my most favorite, but still good enough for me to enjoy. ...more "
