Summary
The Deal kicks off Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series with Hannah and Garrett. Hannah, still struggling with past trauma, finally finds someone who sparks her interest, but he doesn’t seem to notice her. Determined to get his attention, she steps out of her comfort zone and strikes a deal with the cocky, infuriating captain of the hockey team, Garrett.

Garrett has one goal: to play professional hockey after graduation. But his sinking GPA is putting everything he’s worked for at risk. When he sees an opportunity to get tutoring from Hannah in exchange for helping her make another guy jealous, he jumps at the chance. What starts as a simple arrangement quickly turns into something much more when a single kiss ignites undeniable chemistry. Suddenly, “pretend” isn’t enough for Garrett. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the guy she wants has been right in front of her all along.

Review
After finishing Summer in the City by Alex Aster, I was completely stuck on what to read next. Thankfully, @blushworthyreads.bookclub came through with an amazing recommendation, and let me just say, they picked so well!

I’m a total sucker for a good sports romance, but throw ice hockey into the mix? I have to read it! I even messaged our book group chat saying, “I can’t keep giving sports romances 5 stars” but the truth is, I LOVE THEM.

Everything about The Deal worked for me. I loved watching Hannah find the strength to overcome her fears and finally let go. I adored Garrett, his charm, his persistence, and the way he and Hannah pushed each other to face their inner demons. Their banter? Top-tier. Their chemistry? Off the charts. I was here for it all.

I can’t wait to continue this series, and I’m so glad I took my book club’s advice on this one!
