okay now onto the book;
the first few chapters blew my mind in a weird way. then, the book got progressively better and less unhinged and i love love loved how much niko was in this book because in god of fury niko came into gaz’s bedroom and in this we got gaz’s pov and then the same with the alley scene we got kayden’s pov with nikolai and everything. i rate this a solid 10/5 because like i can’t even compare it to any other book other than god of fury. yes i like god of fury more because it was my first rina book and it was so so so good but HELLO gaz and kayden had an amazing plot and story but it just can’t compare to the lusting of nikolai and bran… OKAY ANYWAYS… kayden’s backstory was SO sad especially with his wife who he married only for business and then she got murdered and it was so sad and the story of kayden’s parents and his dad hurting his mom thank god they separated and now his mom is remarried to her best friend jina so kayden calls them mom and mom jina and it’s so sweet. okay now onto gaz. the story with his teacher almost brought me to tears because that was absolutely horrible and heartbreaking it should not have happened to gareth. okay now the injuries… kayden took a bullet for gaz and i lost it. also i HATE declan for kidnapping gaz and making him go insane in a straightjacket like whatttt but at least declan is dead. the tattoos they got for each other nearly had me crying, kayden got one that said little monster for gaz and gaz got one that said my villain k.d. 🥹. also i looooove how much we got of vaughn in this book and how he and gaz were messaging on reddit and it was anonymous so they didn’t even know 😭 but when they found out it was okay and gaz also just talked to vaughn a lot about his issues and stuff but also i’m still lost at who was hunting at the initiation. like every heathen was with their s/o… and it’s just wild. but anyways i literally cannot stop thinking about this book and it is now up there with god of fury and nothing anyone says will change that. ...more "

niko was an interesting character right from the beginning and i knew i liked bran right from the beginning. bran just kept refusing to admit he wasn’t straight anymore until like chapter 18 or something. bran just kept denying it over and over and niko just refused to believe it.

they broke up so many times over the course of this book and PLUS the amount of times they punched each other in the face. i think they punched each other at LEAST twice each… but none of which were when they were together.

all of the ways nikolai describes bran’s eyes

“even if you hate yourself, i’ll love you enough for both of us”- nikolai sokolov. this quote had me IN TEARS. i loved how much niko cares for bran even if bran didn’t reciprocate it in the same way nikolai did.

the ending of the book had me SHOOK. when bran CUT HIS THROAT i screamed. i started crying and i have never wanted to hug someone more. niko and lan coming together to kill grace to avenge bran just showed how much love nikolai has for bran. ALSO on my reread, i noticed that there was a quote in the beginning when bran said he needed to shove a piece of glass in his neck *subtle foreshadowing*

this book is the only book ive ever read that made me tingly inside and actually made me feel like that. i’ve never had a physical reaction to a book like i did to this one. the tingly-ness and the tears made this book the most emotional book i’ve ever read.

UPDATE
i read the book in about five hours and then proceeded to pick it right back up and reread it already. i cried more the second time than the first and i just don’t think a book can ever shake me as much as this one. the second time i read it, i read it in around three hours 😭. 603 pages in three hours is pretty impressive to me!
