"I want to like this because I read a review that said the storyline is great and the spice is spicy. But I literally cannot get into this. I can’t deal with another cheesy, boring, Mary-Sue archetype of FMC. Please 2026 give me better reccs! 😩" — Dec 28, 2025 12:55PM

"Wanted a spicy paranormal romance after reading the ACOTAR series and necromancy + New Orleans after rewatching Interview with a Vampire by Miss Rice? Yes please.
The two sisters in this book are *slightly* annoying but this is similarly how I felt about Feyre in ACOTAR, so I kept reading. I love Smith’s descriptions so far and the ghostly love interest is so so hot, personality and descriptions galore." — Dec 28, 2025 12:18PM

"Been on a queer vampire kick recently, and the signed version was in my local bookstore, so I needed to snag. I’m a big fan of Schwab’s writing style and inherent wit, but wasn’t a big fan of the superhero-esque genre of Vengeful so I was excited to try this out.
So far, the characters are great. Much prefer the archaic character more than the modern one which is a surprise. Lots of yearning and teeth." — Dec 28, 2025 12:15PM
