second of all, kou was the perfect example of a TEENAGER dealing with grief. thats the whole point of his character. fhats the whole point of all the characters, even. they’re not SUPPOSED to make all that much sense, and theyre not supposed to make the best most logical decisions ever. because they’re teenagers. they’re still figuring it out and io sakisaka showcases this in such a beautiful but realistic way.
not only that, but the characters’ growth is so good, it almost feels rewarding for putting up with all the things they went through. not only futaba figuring herself out, but in my opinion, yuri’s development seconded to that. i just love yuri’s whole character in general. she’s so cute and strong and admirable and omg (๑>◡<๑)!!!! my second favorite character after futaba, only because i relate to her on a whole other level.
and don’t get me STARTED on kou. i literally feel like a proud mother (because his mom’s dead) just thinking about just how much he had changed throughout the story. and to be fair, he did piss me off a lot at first. but that’s the point. that’s what he was supposed to do, because he had lost himself at the time. he said it himself, that futaba was his hero because she helped him find himself again. i feel like a lot of people who don’t like him because he acts “nonchalant” are people who have never grieved before. that guy lost his mother of all people, and recently too. ( • ᴖ • ｡)
i ESPECIALLY loved the ending, when kou changed his last name again and left it as a surprise for futaba. like?!!!!!?!?!(!?;!!!;!;!:?(&:!;83&( seriously the type of guy you’d only find in books. ( ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ഒ

anyways, this wasnt worded as well as i had wanted it to be, but you get it. i love this series and im so excited to read all of sakisaka’s other works ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ ...more "
