"The writing feels like it is giving me a little whiplash. The setting is very much fantasy and it seems like it would be in a world without modern technology and sorts but the language and the word choices for the characters’ dialogue is a little too modern to go with the setting. I am listening to the audiobook and i think narrator is also fueling the mismatch writing with how she is presenting the dialogue." — Sep 30, 2026 06:58AM
