omg this book was so good like when i say not a single page was filler or bored me i mean it i was fully intrigued or entertained the entire time which is so rare when reading unfortunately. the plot twists were nicely placed throughout the book because you think they're discovering one thing when they end up discovering something else relating to it that ends up being a puzzle piece for the bigger picture. i barely had any clue what was going on and where this was going but i wasn't mad about it at all.

i didn't expect the mini political intrigue that was in this book i just thought this would be a silly little dark academia book but i thought that was super interesting and really made me question which groups and people were in the right and which were in the wrong for their actions. the world building was also great in this book. i feel like i learned a lot about how this world functions but just the right amount of information was given to us to leave us wanting to know more about the other elements of this world. and not to mention that even with six different povs, i feel like this book wasn't moving too fast or too slow at times, but always at the right speed for me. every character's story was so intriguing, but i feel like i didn't learn enough about their backstories and what exactly happened to cause their trauma because it was just vaguely mentioned, which just leaves us as readers to assume what happened, so i wish this was expanded on slightly more.

not to compare but this is exactly what i thought the atlas six would be like. i could tell it was heavily inspired by it, especially with certain character personalities and characteristics, (view spoiler)

the last 50 pages had me losing my mind because i was so scared for everyone's fate (view spoiler)

this is going to sound like the stupidest reason for not being a five star book but the only reason i couldn't give it a perfect rating is because at moments it felt a little like a tv show, (view spoiler)

anyways this book was so good, especially for a debut i highly recommend ...more "
