Sometimes keeping the peace is the sacrifice we make to avoid dealing with things in the moment. It’s not necessarily kind, it’s more of a people pleasing tendency that avoids issues and strife. This can also cause resentment if tucking your emotions away is the cost of peace, and do you really have a good relationship with that person if it’s based on false niceties as to not upset them?
