At the center is Kim—a character whose gender is deliberately left ambiguous, making them a universal projection space for questions of identity, loyalty, and moral compass. The novel weaves historical facts with speculative fiction, political intrigue, and technological details into a narrative tapestry so densely woven that you find yourself repeatedly tracing individual threads—only to discover new ones.

But Fort Knox is not just a thriller—it is also a love story. A quiet, fragile, and at the same time profound relationship develops between Kim and Wanja, whose strength lies precisely in its ambiguity. Both characters are constructed beyond binary gender logic, which creates space for diverse interpretations. Their love eludes conventional attributions—and thus gains a universal dimension. It is tenderly and intelligently told, without kitsch, but full of longing.

The linguistic style is particularly impressive: every sentence seems to have been carved with a scalpel, precise, well thought out and yet full of poetry.
