"i am enjoying this book. its very wordy tho and i probably will have to reread simply because i’m struggling to use my context clues LOL
i really enjoy chapter 3, and her connection between the capitalist system and patriarchy—beauty itself has become individualistic and exclusionary, valued on a person’s proximity to whiteness, capital and thinness!" — 6 hours, 5 min ago

"before you say anything im simply intrigued by the title
it’s so unfortunate that the man who wrote this wasn’t black because it kind of ruins the experience of reading ab a black experience through a bigoted lens
but it’s fundamental towards understanding the harlem renaissance and i am somewhat pleased by the writing style
sigh" — May 12, 2026 08:09PM
