Once again, I am stunned by how amazing Nadine Brandes’ writing is. Every book that I have read by her has been a five star read for me! I’m seriously stunned. This book might be my favorite book by her so far. Obviously I’m just going to like to go through and read every single book that she has ever released, so my new favorite will probably soon be replaced.

‧₊˚✧Characters✧˚₊‧
So like any book by this author, it took me a couple chapters to kind of understand the main character, but obviously once I did I fell in love with him. He might be one of the best characters of all the books I’ve read by her. Her characters are all so deep and developed!

‧₊˚✧Themes✧˚₊‧
The main theme that was regularly pressed on throughout this book was the theme that we shouldn’t just believe what everyone tells us. We need to ask questions and think for ourselves. And even though there may technically be one RIGHT way, that doesn’t mean that everyone who is on that path is doing the right thing. That’s why it’s important that we don’t look for what everybody else believes, and instead look for the truth.

‧₊˚✧Plot & Progression✧˚₊
The plot was one of the fastest out of all the books by this author I’ve read. It was really good. There wasn’t a second that I was bored. I practically couldn’t put this book down!

‧₊˚✧Things that stood out✧˚₊‧
One of the big things that stood out was Emma. She was kind of the voice of reason in this whole ordeal. She was that one person who was on the right path, along with everyone else, but she was the one actually doing it right, and not using it for evil. And the biggest thing that stood out most of all was the White Light. Obviously this represented God, but what I really love is that she gave it personality. SHe didn’t just make it this deity that was just awesome and all knowing. The author gave it a personality and humanized it! And that is important because God does have a personality. He’s not just a boring deity. He is relatable and CREATED us humans. I definitely recommend this book to everyone, and honestly hope that people actually read it because IT IS SO GOOD!!!

“I honor God because I know Him, know what He’s done for me, how He loves me. And He’s worth it. No matter where I am, no matter what happens, He’s always worth honoring.”
