She had recommended this book to me when we started the semester. I briefly told Ms. Lisa that I was into photography and overall street photography, and such, she then recommended me this book, and ever since then, I’ve been loving it. The author and title of this book are “Humans” by Brandon Stanton. The whole storyline and point of this book is to capture the true story of someone’s life. The author, Brandon Stanto,n is from New York City, and has always had this thought; many events that occur always have news reporters or sometimes journalists, however t, they always “target” the main action or whatever seems newsworthy. This book briefly summarizes many people’s childhoods or even midlife stories. As mentioned in the beginning, this book has a lot of different stories, stories of people, and childhood memories. I believe that this book can truly give you another perspective on life, and find something that means something to you, and not to give up, strive to do better each day and every day.
A highlight of how Brandon wrote this book was each quote and story from each photo. A lot of these stories mention childhood memories. A particular story stood out to me the most. From going off of memory, it mentioned that the person had a fun childhood, filled with laughter and friends; however, there were moments that were challenging. This stood out as a memorable, not a fun one, but it was definitely me getting into an accident on my bike when I was younger. I honestly love how they mention some of the negatives they’ve had; however, keeping positive and focusing on the close moments they had.
The overall purpose and summary of the book is that others’ perspectives matter, even during the moment and the targeted action, it's worth a while to get everyone’s view by interviewing others and being truthful. I think that this book can be for everyone seeking adventurous stories of others and learning of other’s path of life. ...more "

"It's more clear that further in the book you go the meanings and stories get much deeper and deeper. The author's stories of why he made the book and what he's doing are more clear now." — Mar 19, 2026 10:58AM
