"In my book the incident that started it all is when April Finnemore disappeared. So far they believe that it was a recently escaped convict who is also her uncle. This event snowballed into manhunts and trials. On page one it says,"The abduction of April Finnemore took place in the dead of night...." This shows that they do not know where April was taken & need to go to these measures to figure it out." — Jan 26, 2026 09:31AM

"In this book there is a connection between the text and myself. This connection is on page 164,"When the man came out of the house, he took the golf gloves off and put them in his golf bag...." This connects to me because I play golf and also own a pair of golf gloves that I do put in my golf bag whenever I finish playing." — Dec 08, 2025 09:30AM

"I believe that this book uses the overcoming the monster archetype. This is shown in the story when the main character is sent away to the Hunger Games where he has to fight through the other competitors & whatever the Gamemakers throw at him. But, this could also be a voyage. Like a voyage he goes to the games, survives, and comes back with experience, but I decided against this because he also brought back wealth." — Jan 12, 2026 09:39AM
