I rated it 4 stars because I really liked how the book has a little mix of romance and mystery, but I did not like how it ended. This book is a series, so I understand why it ended the way it did, but it could have been so much better. I loved the middle of the book; it made me want to keep reading, it was so engaging, and the plot twists were flabbergasting. I loved all the characters, there were some times when new characters would come in, and it would just be very random, but overall they made the book more inresting essepcially Ruben and Alan.

Frieda, the main character, is a physicist. Freida links a case to one of her patiniets deltaied fantasies about a boy. He keeps having vivid dreams about the boy. The boy looked like the 5-year-old who had got aduabcted his name was Matthew Farraday. She is promoting her assistant DCI Klarsson in a desperate, atmospheric hunt.

The theme of this book would be the dark, hidden, and irrational aspects of human behavior. Frieda is exploring one of her patients who keeps dreaming about a boy who went missing, and that relates to a diifret cases that happened decades ago, so Klarsson is helping her to figure out what has happened, and why it keeps happening. “He’s in trouble, you know, your precious dean. He’s done something very bad. Wicked” (French, 251). Tension is extremely high as Frieda confronts the frightening truth about dean which is Alan’s twin brother. This reveals that serious evidence or suspicious have turned toward him. The words are meant to shock and hurt, especially because Dean has been trusted or cared about. Mrs. Reevs Alan’s and Dean’s mom does not care about Alan in this sence she thinks it’s Dean. This moment marks a turning point in the investigation, as the possibility that Dean is involved in Matthew’s disappearance becomes more real. The atmosphere is dark and threatening, and the characters are forced to face the disturbing idea that someone close to them may be capable of something terrible. ...more "
