"Much slower start than the hobbit, which was to be expected. So far it has been very atmosphere based with Tolkien finding ways to cast an ever-increasing uneasiness through the scenery and his choice of words. Good book so far but I’m excited for it to pick up in the second half" — Jan 30, 2026 07:12AM
