Robin Mixon

I really enjoyed this book. The character development was very good. The story is about a bunch of kids about 14 yrs old discovering their brands of magic. Like any 14 yr old they have cliques, angst, self-doubt, jealousy - all the teen stuff. The main characters grow into their abilities and confidence. There are lots of interesting magical creatures - ‘human’ and other. Lots of action. The plot revolves around the theme of good vs evil. The book is fairly short - just over 300 pages but it was not a quick read for me mainly because there was some world building which I had to learn and try to keep clear in my head as the reader. Overall this was a very fun read and I can definitely recommend it.
