"if this wasn't published in 2021, I would think this was written by AI sometimes and not revised because the structure is odd, there are several of the same paragraphs, it repeats a lot, and some chapters and undertitles are barely even filled in before we jump to the next. that being said, some of the advice are good so far." Book cover for Don't Let The Forest In
“I break rules sometimes.” “Only if I drag you into it.” Thomas knocked his knee against Andrew’s. “You won’t even steal a pencil. You know what we need? You, me, stargazing, and vodka. I’m deeply interested in what you’d say with no ...more

Rachel Griffin
“But I like winter. Winter is the truest of the seasons. It’s what remains after everything else is stripped away. The leaves fall. The colors fade. The branches get brittle. And if you can love the earth, understand it when all the beauty is gone and see it for what it is, that’s magic.”
Rachel Griffin, The Nature of Witches

Rachel Gillig
“There once was a girl,” he murmured, “clever and good, who tarried in shadow in the depths of the wood. There also was a King—a shepherd by his crook, who reigned over magic and wrote the old book. The two were together, so the two were the same: “The girl, the King… and the monster they became.”
Rachel Gillig, One Dark Window

Leigh Bardugo
“She might be a conversa or a morisca. Most of the magic that survived in Spain came from Morvedre or Zaragoza or Yepes. But who knew how long any of it would last, lost to exile and the Inquisition, magic bleeding away with the bodies of Jews and Muslims, their poetry silenced, their knowledge buried in the stones of synagogues made into churches, the arches of Mudéjar palaces. The tolerance for mysterious texts like the Picatrix would be stamped out by the Pope, and King Philip would follow.”
Leigh Bardugo, The Familiar

Margaret Rogerson
“Sometimes, if you want to save other people, you need to remember to save yourself first.”
Margaret Rogerson, Vespertine

Leigh Bardugo
“Months later, a woman brought a fish home from the market and cut it open to find an emerald the size of her thumbnail. She thanked the fish, tucked the jewel into her pocket, and left the house, never to be seen again. Her husband, a drunkard with heavy fists, found only the fish, which he was forced to prepare himself for dinner. He choked on a bone and was buried in a pauper's grave.”
Leigh Bardugo, The Familiar
