" 5 stars

Frankly, wow. This was my most anticipated book of 2024 and I got nervous that it was so anticipated it was going to let me down, but I should know better than to not trust in Miss Maas. I absolutely loved this installment and I think it is of 5 stars

Frankly, wow. This was my most anticipated book of 2024 and I got nervous that it was so anticipated it was going to let me down, but I should know better than to not trust in Miss Maas. I absolutely loved this installment and I think it is officially my favorite book in the Crescent City series and frankly rivals KoA for one of the best SJM books I’ve read.

Things I loved about this book:
- This book had the PERFECT amount of ACOTAR vs. Crescent City. I got a little nervous that this book was going to be the next ACOTAR book and it would take away from the ultimate plot of CC and SJM didn’t do that at all. Bryce went in to Prythian, answered the questions she needed answered, planted seeds for the next ACOTAR plot, and then got out of there. And it was the perfect amount of content.
- Ruhn and Lidia 🥰🫶🏼⭐️💟 their story was everything and I’m so so happy to see it play out. I loved the Lidia POV’s we got in this book and they were perfectly sprinkled in and I loved every single tidbit we got.
- Ithan Holstrom. Love my wolf sunball daddy and I will not be taking any questions.
- Bryce and Hunt. Okay did Bryce piss me off this entire book? Absolutely. However her fights with Hunt, while annoying, were so raw and real and there was so much growth between the two of them. I actually loved the fact that we saw them argue and bicker when they were going through such a stressful time and to watch them choose each other again and again, even when they disagreed was so realistic???? It look took my breath away.
- I looooved the way this wrapped up. Like I feel so content with the ending and I’m so happy with how it played out (minus the typical SJM ending at the very end but it’s all good).

The pacing and plot kept me hooked the entire time and the plot twists had me gasping and excited the entire time. There were lulls but just enough to hook me back in for a big action sequence. When I think of KoA, I think the first half of the book was slow and info heavy, but with this one I feel like there was always something happening and it was easy to consume. Even the Tharion chapters, while he was annoying to read about, I still gobbled up the info. And feeling so annoyed with Tharion and Bryce and evoking so much emotion… isn’t that a 5 star book??? That can evoke so much emotion??

Anyway I’ll stop my rant. I loved it. So much. Can’t wait for the next. ...more "
