“But let’s be honest. Real good can come from never missing Sunday-morning worship. Real good comes from guarding what you watch. Good can come from guarding your life in these ways. But as a means to or measure of our righteousness? These things will always fall short.”
― Matt Chandler, To Live Is Christ to Die Is Gain

“The gospel is: a Christ-centered story to be told a hope-filled message to be proclaimed a revealed truth to be defended a new status to be received a transformed life to be lived a divine power to be celebrated.12”
― Jonathan Leeman, The Underestimated Gospel

“Paul says, “I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him” (Phil. 3:8–9). All the persecution, all the suffering, all the pain, all the daily dying to self, and all the wasting away in the flesh is worth it compared to the joy of knowing Jesus, being with Jesus, and becoming like Jesus.”
― Matt Chandler, To Live Is Christ to Die Is Gain
