This is the story of a Aurora and Axel and it is a mafia romance. Axel has just left prison after a seven year stint where he took the fall for his best friend. Aurora is the daughter of a mafia Don and is on the verge of being called home after her father allowed time away … almost four years. She knows her independence is almost over and she will very likely be called upon to marry to strengthen her mafia family and another families shared legacy. She is dreading it. She wants freedom. She ends up meeting Axel and they have a one week affair. When she’s summoned home, she finds out a few weeks later that she is pregnant but doesn’t even know Axels last name as they agreed to keep it strictly sexual. When her father calls upon her to marry, she has no idea that the man she’s been promised to is a man who assaulted her in college and Axel’s son. Axel also has no idea that the agreement he made with his best friend for his son to marry his friends daughter is actually Aurora…. A woman that he’s thought about every single day since their encounter. Enter the pregnancy and everything falls apart when he sees Aurora, realizes he’s promised his son in marriage and she is actually carrying his child. He can’t forget her and he cannot let his son have her but how can he tell his best friend (her father) they he not only slept with his daughter but impregnated her as well! This was my first by this author. It was good. The plot was decent, the characters were well fleshed out and I enjoyed the writing. It was smooth and seemless. 4.5🌟🌟🌟🌟
