In the Last Olympian is the continuation of The Battle of the Labyrinth. In the Last Olympian it begins with Percy and Rachel together on a beautiful day at a private stretch beach on the South Shore where Percy’s mother and her boyfriend Paul was on the beach. Paul was nice enough to let Percy use his car for a quick run with Rachel where they headed to a ridge that overlooked Atlantic. The day was just starting until Percy receives a visitor from his old friend and someone who was along with him. His old friend Blackjack a pegasus and on his back was Charles Beckendorf. That went to camp at Half Blood. The reason why Blackjack and Charles have arrived for Percy was because it was time to distract the Titan (Kronos) and his army from destroying the Olympus.To begin with Percy and Charles had to blow up the Titan’s curise ship which is the Princess Andromeda. As Percy and Charles reached the cruise ship with a lift from Blackjack they had a good chance on getting on the cruise. As Percy and Charles got the cruise they started to plan a way to blow up the cruise ship going different directions to distract the army on the ship. Turns out the plan didn’t work after all. Percy was seen by Kronos and was trapped by his army from escaping and Charles was captured by two of Kornos giants. Percy had to make a choice before it was late to save Charles from getting killed. Percy’s idea was to kill Kronos and distract his army but that didn’t work. Unexpectedly the cruise ship blew up and Percy jumped from the top of the deck into the water. From the water Percy can see that the ship was blown up pretty badly.On that thought he thought of Charles and wondered if he’d jumped off. There was no sight of Charles in the water. Charles was still in the cruise when it exploded. Percy knew there was no way he could’ve made the high jump and that he was dead by now. Percy wouldn’t believe Charles would be dead because he had made a promise that they would get off the ship alive and safely. Percy knew that promise had been broken and how it wouldn’t be easy telling his girlfriend Silena. Percy had no time to waste he had to get to Camp Half Blood. When he arrived at Camp Annabeth and Chiron were the only people excited to see him. Chiron asked about Charles and from Percy face he knew it was something bad. He knew that it would be a good thing to tell Silena instead of letting Percy. The campers at camp were getting prepared for the battle that was days from now. Late night when Percy heard something coming from the woods he jumped into Juniper , Leneous, and Nico. Juniper was talking about Grover to Leneous and asked if he had heard from Grover and where might he be. Grover haven’t been head for two months and a lot were worry. Nico was waiting for Percy to tell him of he had decided to agree on his plan to destroying Kronos. Percy have been having dreams and thoughts about the battle, Luke, and Nico. Percy then agreed to Nico’s plan. The plan was to go to the underworld. When Percy and Nico were in the underworld turns out that the plan had more to do with Hades (Nico’s father). Nico was still trying to investigate about his younger life was and about his mother which Hades promised to tell Nico. Hades told less than what Nico expected to hear. Leaving Nico and Percy trapped with confusion. On the way back to the real world they had to ride over the River Styx. Where Percy decided to make a choice on bathing in the river. Bathing in the river was something powerful and dangerous for anyone who got in the river. At times the power will work for some and it will kill some. The only advantage it did for Percy was he turned invulnerable. Which was helpful for Percy because he had a less chance in dieing and he received more power than before. On Percy’s way back to the real world he headed to New York where the campers would meet him and where the battle will take place. As planned the campers arrived on time to New York, where Percy began to give orders to the campers on where to hold their defense and make traps for the battle. At the end Percy saves the Olympian and gods from being destroyed. Silena turned out to be the spy for Kronos all along and risked her life pretending to be Clarisse and got dead. The Ares cabin ( Clarisse teammates) decided to go to New York and help. Chiron and his rainbow ponies arrived to help as well. Rachel became the new Oracle at Camp. Lastly Annabeth got Luke to listen and saved him from under Kornos spell and got Luke to kill Kronos.

First, I like how in every chapter there is a problem happening or a situation Percy have to face. I like how in every situation Percy risks his life to save his friends, campers and those who are important to him. I like how Percy had to make a decision on picking a gift from the gods. When they offered Percy to be a god and be in the Olympus with all the gods and instead chose a gift that was more important. Percy’s gift was for all the gods to start claiming their childrens instead of denying them, to start being more apart of their life, and to send them to Camp Half Blood where they would be trained and safe from the outside world. One thing that surprised me the most was how Percy was being kissed by both Rachel and Annabeth without knowing. How he would like Annabeth and at the same time would like Rachel as well. When at the end Percy ended up with being with Annabeth. At last one thing that surprised me was all along Silena was the spy for Kronos while she was at camp and while Percy gave orders of where defense would hold place at. To conclude this will be the last Percy Jackson book I will read though there are more series. Otherwise it will always be my top favorites. ...more "
