Basically, The Percy Jackson series explains why everything in the world is made and how it is made because I've recently finished listening to the audio book Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I also checked out the book and read along with the audio. Basically, The Percy Jackson series explains why everything in the world is made and how it is made because of ancient Greek gods. For instance, the big three ( Zeus, Hades, and Posidon) are the main gods and the sons of Kronos- the grandfather. Percy is the son of Posidon, the sea god. This means Percy has special powers when he is in the water. He is also a demigod ( half mortal and half god) which means he is always in danger. Camp- Halfblood is the only place for people like Percy. Also most demigods have dyslexia because their minds are built to read Greek.
The story starts with Percy at school, he hadn't had an attack all year, then the last day of school happened to bring him bad luck. Sloan, Percy's bully, had many new students with him. Sloan had threatened to destroy Percyat the dodgeball game. Anyway, once they went to P.E. Percy and his friend Tyson (a homeless 6 foot tall boy) were on one side while the rest of the class was on the other side. Just as the game begun, the "new students" turned into blood thirsty mosters! They tried to kill Percy and soon Percy and Tyson had to escape. Soon Percy and Tyson met up with Annabeth and caught a cab to Camp halfblood.The fates( 3 1,000 year old sisters with 1 eye and 1 tooth to share) drove the thee kids to the camp in under 2 minutes. When they arrived at camp, they were under attack with fire breathing metallic bulls. Percy eventually beat them and percy realized that charon (half horse, half man) was gone. A new activites director was there who was 5,000 years old and for 3,000 years he hadn't eaten or drinken a thing. It was becaused he disgraced the gods and soon his children were discouraging him, so he ate them. Anyway, he soon set Clarrise ( Daughter of Ares, god of war) on a quest.
Only then, Posidon had claimed Tyson to be his son. Later that night, Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Grover, left camp in search of the golden fleece. Toward the ened of the book, Percy and the gang found the fleece and passed it on to Clarisse to fly back to camp. Where as Luke, found Percy and the gang and tried to attack, but Chiron and the party Ponies came to the rescue. Chiron and the rest of the centars then galloped back to camp. Evntually, when Percy turns 16, he will only then decide the fate of olympus. So overall, this book is amazing and I plan on reading the rest of the series. ...more "
