"Interesting read. I'm not sure how I feel about Doro and Anyanwyu's relationship--it seems clearly that he is using her for his own gain, and that gain seems to create a superrace of spirits with exceptional abilities--think eugenics with a twist. Doro is cruel, selfish and self-focused, and as of now Anyanwu doesn't seem to be able to escape. Quite abusive." Sep 09, 2012 01:03PM

Maya Angelou
“The Black female is assaulted in her tender years by all those common forces of nature at the same time that she is caught in the tripartite crossfire of masculine prejudice, white illogical hate and Black lack of power.

The fact that the adult American Negro female emerges a formidable character is often met with amazement, distaste and even belligerence. It is seldom accepted as an inevitable outcome of the struggle won by survivors and deserves respect if not enthusiastic acceptance.”
Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

Hafez
“And still, after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
"You owe Me."

Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.”
Hafiz

“I hope you always find a reason to smile.”

“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”
