Charles Bronte is audacious to create the heroine who doesn't meet the conventional standards of beauty or femininity ; yet she did not fail to capture the hearts of the readers and make them unconsciously conceive a high opinion about Jane – due to her never- failing strong moral principles that makes her stronger than the other characters.

“I am a free human being with an independent will."

Claims Jane Eyre with audacity ; proving her to be of a headstrong character. She always pledges to support her own self without being a burden to others. She seeks independence, freedom and autonomy yet not at a cost of her dignity.

When she faced a situation to sacrifice her dignity for passion, that in order to be with Mr Rochester she need to be his mistress; she chooses the hard moral choice of leaving him behind for God ‘s care while she seek another place for a living. Meanwhile, when St John offer her to take the more Saint way of sacrificing her life as a missionary‘s wife to serve others, Jane consider it as a restriction to her passion and herself; as a whole.

The book is enhanced further when the themes of love, religion but most importantly feminism is beautifully shown by the Charles Bronte ‘s cleaver creation of foils to contrast the main characters.
St John vs Mr Rochesterto show the contrast of passion vs principles and Jane vs Helen burns to show submission vs self-assertion

Women are supposed to be very calm generally: but women feel just as men feel; they need exercise for their faculties, and a field for their efforts as much as their brothers do; they suffer from too rigid a restraint, too absolute a stagnation, precisely as men would suffer; and it is narrow-minded in their more privileged fellow-creatures to say that they ought to confine themselves to making puddings and knitting stockings, to playing on the piano and embroidering bags. It is thoughtless to condemn them, or laugh at them, if they seek to do more or learn more than custom has pronounced necessary for their sex.
What makes this book outshine from other classics is the way it point out to the reader almost explicitly about the character ‘s flaws yet effortlessly manipulate the reader to conceive a good impression of the characters. Jane is central and the development of her character from childhood till her adulthood creates a full picture to the reader. She effortlessly piques curiosity and gain admiration from the reader. Yes she is plain–looking. Yes she is poor. But her docility, her sharp responses; her perseverance all makes her attractive; such that her physical unattractiveness was simply dismissed from my mind.
Indeed Jane is “an aromatic wine, after swallowing, warm and racy.”
I like the fact how the plot offered surprise twists that consistently astounded me and draw me into the story even further. This is certainly a five start book. This is a good example why people chose books as companion over people.

Bronte‘s passionate , descriptive narration; with no superfluous elements ;the moral strength of the heroine 's character; the deep intrinsic explorations of love; child neglect, the power of love, the powerlessness of the poor, the patriarchal society all creates this beautiful tale- Jane Eyre
The book is about Jane Eyre thus I was more inclined to focus my review on her though Mr Rochester took had an equal part and undeniably a memorable character in this love story. ...more "
