"This book is not an allegory because there aren't any major events that occur in the book, that also occurred in history. There are situations that reflect human situation, such as when Tab faces the tough decision of whether to fight for her friend's faith, or her own reputation. Tab chooses her friend over herself, which can reflect to the meaning that helping others can be more of a reward than helping yourself." — Jan 15, 2016 02:36PM

"The inciting incident of Allegiant is when the Allegiant decide to send 6 people out of the fence, to discover their world outside. The six of them realize that going outside the fence has high risks. This shows how important it is to them. Everything after this event leads to the conflict and the climax of the story. The climax occurs outside of the city, which is why leaving the fence is the inciting incident." — Oct 23, 2015 08:39AM
