Edward focuses on the origins of orientalism, and how the west views the “Oriental” as passive and unable to think for himself, or govern himself, justifying all the colonization occurrences in the last 3 centuries. Also it’s funny how the west just defines us textually but once our actions deviate from what they described then it’s Islam vs non Islam.
