The story is lovely, funny, well conceived and constructed. I mean, when it comes to Armageddon, you would expect what, end of the world, Hell and Heaven, volcano, death and Angels and so on, but has it ever occurred to you that it could be hilarious as well? It all started with the prophecies of Agnes Nutter, and 11 years before, and all the mischief and a dumb accident, which in their turn rolled the big snowball, and on that very set of fundamentals the Apocalypse started. So far so good, everything was going according to the Great-but-ineffable-plan (LOL), except for a somewhat fussy angel and a fast living demon, rather want to procrastinate the end of the world, and a misplaced Antichrist. You can't expect a more starting point to the most humorous Apocalypse. Seriously, you have to dig in to have a good read, and to find out about the wit and wisdom of both authors, especially the funny, satirical writing of Terry Pratchett.
I would rather wait for a while to read this book, but since its adaptation is going to air in the 31st May I know I have to go with the flow and finish it (and indeed in the exact 31st of May). And it turned out to be a great journey. On the exact same day I heard for the very first time the voice of Sir Terry Pratchett himself and on the same day one of his dying wish fulfilled, thanks to the co-author Neil Gaiman. Especially a front seat for Sir Terry in the premiere of the series. What an emotional day.
Certainly I have to re-read the book, not only for the greatness but also on my first read I cannot yet grasp all the hidden jokes in the book, due to my limited understanding. But I know for sure that every time the hilariousness will stay the same, if not deeper. :)))
RIP Sir Terry Pratchett.
