He never does anything unexpected and certainly would never go on any adventure, but this hobbit should prove quite a misnomer and will surprise even a dwarf. I was quite surprised myself might I add. Gandolf the grey might have had a hand in doing so. He is a wizard, and he took part and influenced many escapades over his long lifetime. Bilbo and Gandolf are accompanied by a few dwarves, thirteen to be exact. These are the very dwarves of old and lived long ago in the great kingdom of Erebor. Erebor is under a lonely mountain, carven by dwarves with vast halls and grand rooms. This kingdom was ruled by Thrain, king under the mountain. Gold ran through the rocks like rivers of fortune. Thrain's love of gold grew too strong and became sick. This was no illness but a sickness of the mind. This was a long time ago in the days of old and long since then much has changed. His grandson, Thorin, leads this group of thirteen dwarves I mentioned. Their names are Fili, Kili, Balin, Dwalin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, and of course Bombur. These are quite funny characters and you will grow to love them throughout the story. This story is heavily themed to be of the fantasy genre and is very enjoyable. You can expect to see some mythical creatures in and around as well. Poor Bilbo Baggins had no idea what was to come next. Something unexpected was about to happen and his casual life under the hill will forever be changed for the better. Gandolf convinces the dwarves that they need a fourteenth member and passes Bilbo off as a hobbit, whether he would like to be one or not. They travel to the ruined kingdom of Erebor which has been taken over by Smaug. He is what you might never expect but his love of gold is overpowering and he will protect his plunder for as long as he lives. Their awaiting adventure is full of action and plot and it would be a shame to spoil it. I tried not to allude too much of the plot but I believe this was sufficient. The rest is up to you to read and enjoy this amazing story, and if you do, I recommend reading "The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". Enjoy the book and have a wonderful time reading through this fantasy world of wonders and excitement. ...more "
