This is the kind of quote that demonstrates the author has no subtlety. Brady's not the loser I thought he was - no one would say that, even if it was true. A more realistic comment would be "he's proving to be difficult" or "he's definitely thrown a wrench into my plan" - literally anything but the flat, obvious "he's not a loser like I thought he was"
