two-part series; recovery and restoration. Turn with me to Hosea 6:1. It reads, “Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.”
“Great then allow me to give you the list of God’s custom-made treatment plans. These plans are for your good so that you can recover.
Detox program – 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Individual therapy – Matthew 6:6, “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Group Therapy – Hebrews 10:25, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Recovery is hard, but it can be done because after recovery, comes restoration.”
“Recovery is the action or process of regaining possession or control of something stolen or lost. Whereas restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. Think of it like a building. You can’t restore it, until you have possession, right? Well, the only way God can effectively restore you, you’ve got to come back to Him, through recovery.”
