"Sigh, this is what happens when I listen to audiobooks. I gotta get this to really read. It was interesting but I just can't focus when I'm listening. I daydream too much. I've had to rewind so many times and I haven't even listened to it in months." Feb 09, 2016 11:18AM

"Loving this book so far! The whole thing is excited and I have to stop myself from skimming it fast to find out what happens next. I also find that this type of book generally involves white characters so I like that most of the characters are African American (it makes very little difference to the story)" Sep 05, 2017 10:54AM

"Idk why but I've always found this one to be the hardest to get through of any of Dostoevsky work. This will be the second time I've attempted to read it and so far, other books keep drawing my eye so I haven't gotten very far. (Im also trying to hit my reading challenge goal so My time is filled w/beach reads, YA books, and graphic novels." Dec 14, 2016 08:01AM

Haruki Murakami
“I look up at the sky, wondering if I'll catch a glimpse of kindness there, but I don't. All I see are indifferent summer clouds drifting over the Pacific. And they have nothing to say to me. Clouds are always taciturn. I probably shouldn't be looking up at them. What I should be looking at is inside of me. Like staring down into a deep well. Can I see kindness there? No, all I see is my own nature. My own individual, stubborn, uncooperative often self-centered nature that still doubts itself--that, when troubles occur, tries to find something funny, or something nearly funny, about the situation. I've carried this character around like an old suitcase, down a long, dusty path. I'm not carrying it because I like it. The contents are too heavy, and it looks crummy, fraying in spots. I've carried it with me because there was nothing else I was supposed to carry. Still, I guess I have grown attached to it. As you might expect.”
